Packed Full of Goodness and a Great Taste too.

Who has yet to enjoy these joyful little gems in a cheesecake or a muffin? For generations blueberries have graced the tables of the humblest to the mightiest, and filled our childhoods with joy. Like all fruits and berries when eaten fresh, blueberries retain all their nutritional benefits, and their fantastic taste.

Blueberries are a source of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, dietary fibre, phenolics, and flavonoids as well as being very low in fat and sodium. Together with raspberries, they also contain lutein that helps maintain healthy vision. Eating a diet rich in lutein may help to prevent cardiovascular disease and age-related eye diseases such as macular degeneration, damage to the center of the retina.

Proanthocyanidins in blueberries may also promote urinary tract health and reduce the risk of infection by preventing bacteria from adhering to the cells that line the walls of the urinary tract.

You can mix some blueberries into vanilla yoghurt, sprinkle them on top of ice cream or cereal, and of course, they enhance many kinds of cakes and pastries. Every which way, these small, blue, sweet-sour berries are just too good to miss.
